In order to ensure the fairness of this comparison test, I deliberately selected configuration models with similar prices. They are the Li Auto MEGA Max version, priced at 559,800 RMB, and the Zeekr 009 2023 model, ME version, with a guide price of 588,000 RMB.

Front Appearance

These two models can be said to each have their own highlights. Let’s start with the Li Auto MEGA. Unlike the previous L-series design language, the Li Auto MEGA appears more avant-garde and futuristic. The rounded and full front face layout gives people a sense of high-speed train sets. The continuous style of the headlight combination also adds a nice finishing touch. Apart from its overall simple and atmospheric appearance, it also has a high degree of recognition. As for the Zeekr 009, compared to the design style of the Li Auto MEGA, it focuses more on creating a sense of luxury. In addition to the unique split-type headlights, the Zeekr 009’s large, enclosed grille gives it a Rolls-Royce-like charm.

Side

The side profile of the Li Auto MEGA continues to break away from convention. Its design sets it apart from conventional models, with curved roof lines and simple side designs creating a sophisticated and futuristic atmosphere. What’s noteworthy about the Li Auto MEGA’s side design is not only its stylish and cool visual appearance but also its superior aerodynamic coefficient compared to most models on the market. The side profile of the Zeekr 009 is more square and solid, conforming to the mainstream image of an MPV. The chrome-plated trim panel embedded on one side of the roof enhances its exquisite and upscale feel to some extent, and the use of starry aluminum alloy wheels also adds a touch of charm to its side appearance.

Rear

The rear of the Li Auto MEGA continues to adhere to the minimalist design philosophy. There are no flashy or sharp lines piled up. Similar to the front face design, it presents a full and solid image, showing a strong and steady posture. The integrated blackened taillight assembly blends seamlessly with the body, creating a well-coordinated overall aesthetic. The quality of the Li Auto MEGA’s taillights is commendable, especially when illuminated at night. The rear design of the Zeekr 009 also conforms to the aesthetic preferences of mainstream consumers. The continuous taillight design is present, and the square overall contour also echoes the overall design theme of the vehicle.

Interior

In terms of interior design, the Li Auto MEGA has not undergone major changes and still follows the familiar L-series style. The symmetrical layout of the center console, the elimination of the conventional instrument panel, and the integrated dual-screen display located in the middle and right side of the cabin further enhance the sense of technology. Additionally, the materials and craftsmanship of the interior continue the brand’s tradition of excellence. The MEGA interior features a large amount of soft leather material wrapping, and the attention to detail is solid. The Zeekr 009 also adopts a family-style design language. Although it does not come with the trendy dual-screen setup, the floating-style 15.4-inch central control display still exudes a strong sense of technology. As the flagship MPV of the Zeekr lineup, the interior quality of the 009 is equally impressive with no apparent shortcomings.

Configuration

Both vehicles have notable features, achieving a comprehensive level of equipment. They both come with features such as Level 2 driving assistance, automatic parking, air suspension, Nappa leather seats, and wireless phone charging. However, the Li Auto MEGA offers a more comprehensive package, including additional features such as vehicle summoning, sensor-based rear tailgate, central airbags, side airbags for the rear seats, and power-folding rear seats, providing a slightly better overall driving experience compared to the Zeekr 009.

Body size

The Li Auto MEGA measures 5350/1965/1850mm in length, width, and height, respectively, with a wheelbase of 3300mm. On the other hand, the Zeekr 009 measures 5209/2024/1858mm, with a wheelbase of 3205mm. From these figures, it’s evident that the Li Auto MEGA holds an advantage in size. Consequently, when it comes to interior space, the Li Auto MEGA outperforms the Zeekr 009. Moreover, the Li Auto MEGA offers a versatile interior layout, capable of transforming into a mobile home at any time, a feature that the Zeekr 009 cannot match.

Power

The MEGA is equipped with dual motors at the front and rear, with a system output of 400 kW and 542 N·m of torque, capable of achieving 0-100 km/h in around 5 seconds. It features a 102.7 kWh ternary lithium battery pack, providing a pure electric range of 710 km.

On the other hand, the Zeekr 009 is equipped with dual motors with a maximum power of 400 kW and maximum torque of 686 N·m, enabling it to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in about 4.5 seconds. It utilizes a 140 kWh ternary lithium battery pack, offering a pure electric range of 822 km. While the Zeekr 009 has slightly better acceleration and range compared to the Li Auto MEGA, it’s important to consider that the Li Auto MEGA is priced more affordably. Additionally, the Li Auto MEGA features 5C supercharging, allowing it to add 500 km of range in just 12 minutes.
