IM Motors, China, makes the L6 electric car. IM was started in 2020 as a joint venture between SAIC (Parent company of MG Motors), e-commerce giant Alibaba, and R&D specialist Zhangjiang Hi-Tech. The quality of its stakeholders is reflected in the groundbreaking features, battery technology, and industry-leading specifications of the L6 EV.
The topmost variant of the L6 sedan is powered by dual motors that can produce a serious 787 hp at 800 Nm torque. It has enough power to take the 2024 IM L6 from 0 to 60 mph in about 2.74 seconds, thanks to the in-house developed, ultra-performance Mg-Al alloy hurricane motor that spins at a crazy speed of 21,000 rpm. The 2024 IM Motors L6 is available in at least 4 trim levels: Max Standard, Max Long Range, Max Ultra Long Range, and Max Extreme Performance. The first three trims come in rear wheel drive configuration whereas the topmost variant of L6 EV comes in AWD configuration.
The list of safety features for the 2024 IM Motors L6 is long and exceptional. IM L6 has taken driver and passenger safety to another level. All four trims have exactly the same safety features, which is quite amazing. Each L6 comes with 6 airbags, 360-degree cameras, electric child locks, ABS, EBD, traction control, dynamic control, EBA, hill assist, and corner brake control.
IM L6 can go 560-780 km on a single charge. The CLTC range estimates for different variants of the IM L6 differ based on drivetrain configuration and battery size. Max Standard trim uses a 71 kWh battery with a range of 560 km, whereas the Long Range, powered by a 90 kWh battery, can go 680 km. While Ultra Long Range and Extreme Performance trims use the same 100 kWh battery, the former has a range of 725 km, whereas the latter goes 780 km on a single charge.
